Terms of Service

The agreement between you and the operator of Marquee.

This is a baseline document. Replace the bracketed placeholders ([Company], [Jurisdiction], [support@…], [$X]) and have legal counsel review it before launch.

The agreement

By creating an account or using Marquee (the "service"), you agree to these terms with [Company] ("we," "us"). If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Acceptable use

Subscriptions, billing, and auto-renewal

What you get on the paid plan

The Household plan unlocks movie night for 3–6 people (group recommendations, group history, group want-list, and related features), in addition to all the free functionality. We may add features, but we don't guarantee any specific feature will remain available forever.

Content from third parties

Movie metadata, posters, and streaming-availability information come from The Movie Database (TMDB) and are subject to TMDB's terms. We make no warranty as to the accuracy of streaming availability or any other third-party data.

AI recommendations

"Smart picks" are generated by an AI re-ranker (running on Cloudflare Workers AI). AI output can be wrong; treat recommendations as suggestions, not authoritative endorsements.

Service availability

We aim to keep Marquee running, but the service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time (Account → Delete account); this cancels any active subscription immediately. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonably practical.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the most recent version is always at this URL. If the changes are material we will notify you via email or in-app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction].
